AMS Modelling Engineer Permanent

A new R&D Design team in Italy is looking for a AMS Modelling Engineer to join their design team in a very scenic part of Italy in the middle of the mountains! This is a unique opportunity to join a word renown image sensor company working on cutting edge technologies in a low cost EU location and benefit from very competitive salaries and tax benefits. There is no option to work remotely and you are required to move to Trento.

Reporting to the Analog Design Manager, this position is expected to manage and implement the architectural specification, abstract modelling, and verification at chip level of the CMOS image sensors designed by the team.

The candidate needs to have a basic but solid expertise in analogue and mixed-signal IC design, with understanding and simulation of common mixed-signal blocks (A/D converters, voltage/current references, bandgaps, amplifiers, PLLs, etc.).

Expertise in high-level modelling and verification (e.g. Verilog-a/ams, RV modelling, …) using different EDA tools from the main vendors such as Cadence, Synopsys, or MentorGraphics, is required. Preferably, the candidate should be able to customise the EDA tools via scripting to contribute to design automation in the verification steps.

The successful AMS Modelling Engineer will work with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams (e.g. digital design team, analog design team, floorplanning team), following the EUTDC design methodology. Periodical reporting, design reviews, participation to internal seminars and training are part of the activity.

Know-how in CMOS image sensors is preferred. In addition, the capability to have a system-level understanding beyond the CMOS image sensor device (image formation, optics, light sources, electrical interfaces, etc.) is a plus.
